Hi!
I bought the following notebook 2 months ago:
Asus K42JV series, i5-450M, 4Gb ram, nVidia GeForce GT 335M vga.
I use windows 7 64bit.
independent from houdini version, but depending on nvidia driver version
I experience one of the following two errors:
As soon as I start houdini cpu usage goes to 100%.
within 5 seconds every hardware resources are used,
changing shelf tab takes minutes, and i need to kill the process
until I`m able to move the mouse.
or
first it seems fine, hardware usage is normal, changing
shelf tab is quick as expected, but GUI is not refreshed.
Random stripes are everywhere, parts of the GUI show up
magnified in the background, random parts show up in different
places, etc... it`s useless.
I would appreciate every help!
Thank you!

Have either of you tried updating the Nvidia driver to something recent? (266 series) Sometimes the driver that comes shipped with a laptop isn't very up-to-date.

Hey,
I have very similar problems with an nvidia gt-525m card in a Dell Notebook. I have tried everything from updating drivers, updating bios, different versions of Houdini but no success.
If the posters above did manage to get it working would you please let us know what you had to do to solve the issues?
Thanks,
Rog.
