old school Posted June 25, 2011 Share Posted June 25, 2011 wha? I counted 6 software packages including plug-ins and one kick-ass CG artist including a home-made ink fluid tank. I put 95% of the success of this shot behind that kick-ass CG artist. Software was just a tool as it should be. So in Houdini, yes advect points in velocity fields generated out of DOPs. There's even an Advect POP tool to set this up for you easily.
