hi there.
Trying to fix somebody else´s pipeline here  :)

Does anybody know if it´s possible to export curves from Maya, and how? The problem is that I have these hair guides created in Maya, but apparently the stupid Autodesk app doesn´t understand curves made of polygons(!!??)
so the usual exporting methods won´t work here. I was wondering how to export them. Any ideas?

Don't know if it works but now houdini and maya support alembic.

Or - a bit more complex - you can try the maya to mantra plugin: openMaya, but thats maybe a bit too extreme for your needs. The advantage is that you automatically get .geo or .bgeo files from your maya objects.
