hi,

if the dll is loaded correctly the ocean SOP node should appear as "hocean". what build version of houdini do you use?
does the vop eval node work?

cheers

Thanks for the feedback,

The eval node is working, but like I said I dont see the Ocean SOP, any ideaa what can be causing this?

I am using build 581.

Inside Houdini I can only see the HoceanEval vop not the SOP Ocean and when I extract the rar for instalation I can see the otl file, the dll file and the  VEXdso file, I wonder if there is some file missing.

And I am using windows.

It seems the dll  could not be loaded or is  not installed correctly. Try the  hocean vex node....it will not work in this case.

First of all wanna say thanks for the work! It works great except one thing. There is a problem with parameters of Ocean_Eval node in VOP. When I create any parameter for this node then it works wrong and gives me something very strange. If don't do this all works fine. I tried create constant and it also works right.
Does anybody notice this problem also? Houdini 12.581. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

it's not possible to modify ocean parameters on a per point basis. The ocean parameters are global parameters for each frame. If you want to create different ocean areas, you can modify the output displacement (e.g. modulate the choppyness depending on point attributes). Or you can blend between multiple oceans with different setups.

cheers,
christian

I've got you. I just guess that's more correct to make settings outside of vop. You can link it with other nodes, create digital assets and it will faster cook after parametr change. Anyway, thanks for the reply.

Now I understand what you mean. I just tried to promote the ocean_eval parameter as a VOPSOP parameter and the re-evaluation is not longer working. You are right.
If I find some time I'll take a look at this.
Thanks.
