With Pyro 2 now they can make some neat nuke tests.

No you all are way off base.
I am the user for the Air Force - I first implemented its use for the Navy several years ago.

Use it for visualization and to do test predictions.
If you would like to know more I and SideFX and Cristie Digital published a paper demonstrating its use at the IITSEC Conference in Orlando, Florida last December and was one of six papers nominated for conference best paper.

Hope this helps but the rumors to bed....

I knew about its use in other fields but this one is very intriguing.
