My first try with houdini here. It's supposed to be two pipes beeing welded together. For some reason the sparks stop on the lower end of the pipe for a short time. The sim looks allright though. I copied a small tube on every particle and assigned the standard glow material…

would be thankful for every hint :)

If you can upload a file it will be easier to find out the solution.

Just lock the file node which is importing pipe geo and then upload the file again. Current file is missing pipe geo.

i'm not at the comp right now, but the pipe geo is just a collision object. the same problem occurse if the simulation is run without the pipe.

It appears fine to me. Your collision object is made up of two objects one is pipe and second is ground plane. In the uploaded images ground plane is not visible. Particles are colliding with the pipe as well as ground plane (its display is turned off).

sorry, maybe I wasn't clear enough what the problem actually is. The collisions are working just fine. If you have a look at the linked video file you'll see that the sparks start disappearing in seconds 6-7. I it looks as if something is turning and making the sparks stop (maybe the normals of the emitter geometry?). But I can't really isolate it, as it looks fine in the viewport sim...

do you see what I'm trying to say? :) Thanks for your efforts.
