Hi guys,

I am trying to set up a system where an animated object moves through a velocity field and disturb the velocity field causing swirls in the object's wake as it passes through.
I want to use this velocity field to advect some particles as the object passes through them like little particles of dust in the air being advected.

I have brought my fields into DOPs but am a bit stuck with how to get my collision volume to affect my velocity volume.
I saw Peter Quint has a relatively new video on affecting velocity fields using collision objects (see link below) but I'm still not quite there.
Any help would be great.
I have attached my hip file (where I haven't really got very far...)

Hi,

it's easier to achieve this effect with the default smoke solver. There's also a "advect by volumes" pop which is pretty useful
for such effects - have a look at the example.
