Is there any way to grab parameters of a node based on it's path?

I have `chsop("../../camPath")` which evaluates to obj/cam1

I'd like to do something similar to this: ch(`chsop("../../camPath")`+"/focal") to get the value of a parameter on the cam1 object but it doesn't seem to be working.
