Hi everyone,

I am trying to scatter points on an environment sphere and have the scattered points pick up the colour of the environment image at their scatter position.
I was wondering if anyone had a better way of doing it than the way I am currently which is using the pic expression to pick up the colour from a file node in a compositing network.
This method just seems a little slow to calculate to me (I guess due to the per point pic lookup expression).
(see attached hip file)

Cheers,
Tom

Wow, yeah, that really is slow.

Try using a Color Map VOP in a VOPSOP.
