hi
I started modelling some stuff in houdini. Whit some expressions I managed to to create a somewhat dragon-like robot.
the special thing is that I can now just some parameters to get differnt looking robots:

here I created a serie of robots by just tweaking some exposed parameters:

I can post the network view if somebody wants?
It's great to so how setting put some expression inside your network can make it so felxible.

here is a pic of the network:

but I think that won't help

basically I started whit a curve and a sweep

used a lot of carve sops and copy sops for the shell arm and so on:

I mirrored the one side to the other an attached my tentakle asset via the points expression:

since the base was a nurbs I can use the carve again to copy serveral objects onto the surface:

for the arm end legs I used open circle sops and combined them again whit the point expression to stay togehter

I hope that helps alitte... theres alot more to it but that would take allday maybe smile.gif
thanks to all for their nice response

No, not really. I did them just for fun nothing professional.
But I am very found of 3Dprinting.

Joining this thread a bit late... but missed it before. Just wanted to say really excellent work. Good job. Really shows off Houdini procedural modelling well and beautiful renderings. smile.gif

Add me to the fashionably late list too - it's original, and it's good (these two qualities aren't often shared, despite what many who prefer the unbeaten path would have us believe). Really excellent work, keep it up. thumbsup.gif

Very nice! I like the design a lot and the fact that you can easily create lots of variation!
