    I had hopes that adoption of newer versions of Qt would resolve this issue. Wouldn't surprise me if the problem is mostly Wacom's fault. Technically, there is a way to enable MMB panning within parameter panels using Wacom's "Pan/Scroll" navigation setting. But doing so also breaks MMB navigation in 3D and network viewports altogether. The limitation would be easier to accommodate if Houdini offered more flexibility for viewport input remapping, like Blender, Modo, and almost everything else out there.

    I don't know if the spin-off product TouchDesigner shares any of its DNA with modern Houdini, but its tablet-oriented interface shows there could be potential there. http://www.derivative.ca/ In the meantime, something like Astropad or Foundry's upcoming Elara might be able to mimic a native experience.   11. Alt-duplicate nodes wires

    Not that I've seen. But you can set up a new keyboard shortcut that mimics that behavior. For example, alt-space to sever the inputs of the newly cloned nodes. Almost feels like a regular modifier key that changes the default duplication behavior.
