  1. Good day everyone! I will begin to learn the basics of Houdini. Only I mainly use Cinema 4D. and now I decided to move to Houdini, so it became interesting to me and try to study. But one questions I ask you, how to make the dynamics of the elements contact the attractor objects? If you do not understand what I wrote. Then let's look at the video file here and show how to do it if you can do the same in Houdini like this one. I hope that you will help to do and I will thank you! CINEMA_4D_-_аттрактор.mp4
  2. I try to visualize a traffic simulation - therefore I set up a emitter particle emitting box in the poppet and a popvop that makes curves attract particles. They should also follow the curve tangents - that doesn't really work. And the really weird thing is, that a lot of particles are being dragged towards the origin. I am a total beginner and would be really thankful if someone could help me. Its for a visualization for my master thesis. Thanks a lot! curve_attract-follow.hipnc
  3. hey all! I'm starting to think on how to replicate an effect like this one attached. I'm starting to think about particles attracted by an object, and when particles are close enough or hit the object they inject opacity into the mesh and reveal the object itself. In houdini I'm starting with a simple POP attractor, but I'm having some back and forth elastic effect with particles (I supposed that is due to the pop force node that is keeping particles moving...). So what I'm trying to do is something that is snapping particles to their goal once they are close enough, and also how can I tell to the particles to get the color of their goal from the beginning, and how to kill them when they are close to the goal, and also how can I transfer the hit information to the mesh so I can make it appear...so many questions! thanks to anyone who can drop an idea! attractor_v001.hiplc SAMSUNG Pixel_1.mp4 SAMSUNG Pixel_2.mp4
  4. I am trying to accomplish something in DOPS, and I am a bit lost. Hoping for some help or a quick example .hip. I want to create a simulation where objects are being attracted to another object's points. Each point should have only one object assigned to it. I want to use an RBD point object and bullet as the solver. I have goal positions assigned to my RBD point object's points, but they do not carry through into DOPS. So, one question would be how can I attach that data to my DOPS objects? The other issue seems to be that data is not read into the vop force (I tried with a rbd fracture object, with attached geo data). The reason I am using DOPS instead of POPS is that I need particle-particle collision. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! -adam
