  1. At the top of the link above are different smoke dynamics. Work with fire and much more
  2. Hello everyone! Please tell me who engaged in the creation of lava in the Houdini. I need to create a procedural texture of magma so that it follows the surface of the geometry. Also, perhaps you know how to create dark folds on the surface of the lava as it cools. Thank everybody in advance! The dark folds
  3. hello guys, im working on a project for which i need to recreate this look in houdini i would really appreciate if some could help me figure out how to do the cape effect im kinda new to houdini and stuck at this effect.. working on a deadline please help out as soon as you can if possible thank you
  4. Hello im a student and pretty new to houdini working on a personal project can u please help me figure out how this effect has been made since im still learning & cant afford high end simulations i would be really grateful if someone could give me an in detail explanation of how to do this... its pretty urgent since i need to finish the project in the next 15 days.. Thank you guys in advance
  5. My work for January - February 2018. These are tests on destruction of 16 Houdini. I ask for your opinion on quality
  6. I know I'm a bit late to the party with the lava, but here it is:
  7. Hello everyone! I am creating a pool of lava and am struggling with creating displacement for it. The problem is the remeshing every frame. How can you make points which are generated at the first frame follow the colour they have been given? My idea is once I have figured this out, to use those points for the position of the displacement. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks! points_follow_colour.hip
  8. I am having two issues here. One, I am unable to figure out how to cool down the system so that when the lava hits an object it begins to cool down. My second issue is how do i make the particles smaller? right now i have large balls that are fairly visible when the lava hits the rock surface. Please advise how i can fix these issues. Thank you for your time and consideration. lava_smoothing_004.hipnc

  10. Looking for ideas to make Finite Element solver-driven spheres stick together or merge. Working on Lava lamp effect, trying it with FEM spheres blown around by a fluid's vel field. (alternatives seem to be particles/Metaballs or viscous Flip, but in reference sometimes the lava balls bounce off of each other in a soft body way.. hence trying FEM). including a sample file (FEM_setup node).. 11. Hey Everybody, Im currently trying to create a lava simulation in real world scale. Im struggling with the surface as well with the simulation. Here are some of the issues that im facing: A surface that is very rough and there are some planes floating in the air Once the partials are hitting the ground it looks like it is loses density. If somebody could give me a direction or advice it would be much appreciated.
  12. Hello all! I have been working on a lava simulation for the past month and I began by following the popular houdini lava tutorial by Ben Watts. For my scene I've modelled a simply environment for the simulation to interact with. So far I'm pretty happy with the viscosity and temperature variation I have achieved. One problem that I have been having is that the lava doesn't seem to flow when it reaches the foot of the "mountain". The particles die and stop where they are. How do I fix it? I would really like the lava to flow towards the camera. The second issue I have noticed is that the fluid doesn't exactly collide with the surface. I mean to say, there is a collision taking place, but it is offset from the surface of the "mountain". How do I get rid of this as well? Any help and advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! Rushil slope2.hipnc
  13. hi all The more i look at this effect the better it gets, but I'm have problems understand how to control the viscosity with temperature to the level seen in the video I have been told it looks like it was done in vex (vex isn't my strong suit) I would like a better explanation of the process it took to get such go control of lava (flip fluid). thank you http://vimeo.com/97108317
  14. Hi guys, I was trying to do some Rnd with the Lava shelf tool and used the Cooling and Heating tools but I can't get them to work properly or at least how I thought it would work. I created 2 boxes (one for each) and it's cooling/heating when the fluid gets to the box but keeps on going after that as it had no effect. Looks like it works with the heating one but with the other it works just when the fluid hits the surface and then loses the attributes or whatever.. It should work with the volume, not just surface, and get even cooler, no? Well I think you will understand watching the video and the hip file. Thanks in advance! lava_coolingProblem.mov Lava_test01.hipnc

    Bubbling Lava

Hello, I am working on a simulation which requires lava to bubble. I want the effect to look similar to I have attached my file. The fluid is deforming as the spheres rise to the surface, however it isn't "exploding" the way it does in the video. I'm not really sure what I'm doing wrong or what exactly I'm supposed to do to get the lava bubles to explode. Any tips or suggestions will be extremely helpful since I am fairly new to flip fluids! Thanks in advance bubbles1.hipnc
  16. Hi guys, recently i decided to create a shot with a lava flow. But I'm not convinced with the overall result, someone can you give me some suggestions please? https://vimeo.com/149561629
