dr.Pixels Posted December 22, 2011 Share Posted December 22, 2011 Hi everyone i want to ask if maybe i am doing something wrong (thats for sure) or what, but seems that i can't access the wiki i read all over and only found announcements that is fixed, but still it gives me an error, what i kindly ask if there is a way for me to know how to correctly install hot, i did download mercurial, and clone it from google source i does work, but i don't know how to install it after, then i try with a compiled version 11.1.67 win64 amd machine, but i can't figure out if i also need to buy visual studio 2005 or 2010 since i don't have it on my machine, is that mandatory in order to use ocean tool kit? sorry really for such a newbie stuff but i read all the hot forum and since i can't access the wiki i am recurring here in hope someone have time to point this newbie in to the right direction. i did read the installation, i did set the env variables, i did download the exact compiled version of the houdini we have, i did made the folders but keeps giving me errors, also when i try to set env on houdini command line editor it gives me this error: The MSVCDir environment variable is set, but does not point to a valid directory.
