flip particle push lost velocity

Recommended Posts

Hi, guys.

I get a flip problem, it was a simple effect such as fountain.

I built a flip with two particle source include, one is a default flat flip with no velocity.

and another one was emit form object with a upward velocity, it was under the first one surface, so when it emit particle, it will push the first flip particle into air, like a fountain.

Anyway it works a few time at begain, but after a while, the particle looks lost the velocity, it stop push the flip upward, or push a little.

I think it may be the reseed particle problem ,when the particle per voxel big the value ,it will delete the particle. but is was not working when turn reseed off or increase the per voxel value .

I can't use velocity field replace.

Is it something wrong with my setting.

Any help will be great.

Thanks!

It is the reseeding logic that prevents you from pushing more fluid in to existing fluid. There is a threshold where the particle density is kept in correlation with the particle separation settings. If you aren't feeding in fluid, no velocity is picked up. That's why it collapses 20 frames in to the simulation. It seems that turning off Reseed Particles doesn't help...

Why not use a pump and allow the reseeding of the container to add fluid where necessary? See the attached file where I took your fountain source and rewired it in to the velocity field input of the FLIP solver and changed the setting presets to pump.

For some reason i don't want use  pump velocity replace.

Anyway i know it is a reseed problem now.

Thanks.
