Save .hipnc instead of .hip

Suddenly my houdini starts to save a .hipnc files instead of .hip

I choose filename and .hip eextension but file saves as .hipnc

Needs help. Thanks

if houdini saves hipnc instead of hip it most likely means you could not obtain commercial licence and houdini is in non-commercial mode (you can see it on splashscreen and on the top bar of the application window). you cant open hipnc with commercial license. you will have to transfer all work manually from one scene to another.

Hmm... I wonder, if you would bake your Hipnc to 123.cmd file with a help of

opscript

command, what would happen if you would then run full commercial Houdini with this file? Will it open Houdini still in NC mode?

this happen to me all the time...

I'm running Houdini but I open a hipnc file to have a look at it, usually a file posted to the forums, and then I move on - forgetting that I'm still in NC...

You can't do this.

use opscript in hscript or hou.Node.saveChildrenToFile() in python.
