Attaching Skeletal-animated Objects To Particles

Hi, I've got a problem here. I'd like to have sketetal-animated characters that behave as particles in POPs (think of a flock of birds). I know how to do this with non-animated geometry using the MergePOP and Copy SOPs, but I have no clue how to do this at the object level so I could get the animated skeletons to follow the geometry. Any ideas?
