missile thrust fire/smoke

Hi,

I have a missile, and I want to create a smoke effect like the picture attached. I have not used Houdini Pyro, neither particle system, I have just watched some tutorials to have a broad understanding. My question: I understand that Pyro needs a source, which one is a better source: emit particles from the back of the missile, select the entire back polygons and use them as a source?

u can select the entire back polygons( or delete part of them, or scatter it to points  and give some noise)  and use them as the source.
