[SOLVED] Dynamic fracturing | can't export geometry (.abc)

Recommended Posts

neurostudio    2

Hey there,

I put together this dynamic fracturing following a tutorial. When I append a rop to export .abc, just the glue constraints splines  get transferred, but not the geometry.

Maybe the groups are not transferring correctly through the hierarchy?

Can't figure out what I am missing. #n00b

Thanks in advance.

Here's the animated .abc I am using and attached is the .hip.

Are you using the /out context?

Try dropping down an Alembic node in the /out context. You get a lot more controls.

Thank you Atom :)

I can't exactly follow.

I just placed the ROP_alembic at the end of the hierarchy.

That is the SOP context, try dropping down an Alembic node in the /out context.

Thank you for this! I'll try to make sense of it and report back!

A friend made me notice there's something weird in the way the connect adjacent points behaves. I'll look in to that as well.

You were one node away. :)

Add DOP Import node in SOPs and bring the Packed Frags back in from DOPs. Then File > Export Alembic Scene. untitled_hip_-_Houdini_Indie_Limited-Commercial_16_0_705.thumb.png.0c6e59d588d4ac279554464537a0338e.png
