Hey all

Sorry for the delay on getting started on challenge 2. I've just finished moving across the world, so things are a little crazy right now. We'll get going on it soon though, promise ;).

Hey,

I'm more of a tech than an artist, but I have an idea for a pretty cool challenge. You may have seen Radiohead's new video for "House of Cards":

http://code.google.com/creative/radiohead/

What's interesting is they have released all of the 3D data of Thom Yorke's head under a Creative Commons license.

How about a challenge to do something cool with the data? I can imagine using it to drive a fluid/smoke/fire/particle sim, or use IsoOffset to surface it and drive cloth sims.

I converted the csv files to a bgeo sequence. Let me know if you want me to upload them somewhere.

cheers,

-Mark

How big are these files? I would love to try working with it to run sims on it.

@mark

send in that data !

even if we don't use it for a challenge (I think it's a very cool idea) I'm sure folks would love to play with it....

The originals are about 350mb zipped, the bgeos are 309mb zipped. I'll upload it to my web site tomorrow and post a link.

Nice data, thanks markv for post it.

In linux is easy convert csv data for import into CHOPs:

find -name "*.csv" -exec sed -i 's/,/ /g' {} \;

next, rename it to .chan

rename 's/\.csv/.chan/' *.csv

Sure, go for it. The more mirrors, the merrier. I'm not really hurting for bandwidth, though.
