Massive --> Houdini

Massive --> Houdini

Hi Everyone.

Just checking in to see if anyone has recommendations or tips about going from Massive to Houdini.

I know that fbx files can be taken from Maya to Houdini, but was hoping for a more direct route.

Any info would be much appreciated.

Hey Anna

Are you just trying to get agent data across for foot placement or actual rigs ?

Just for foot placement it would be quiet easy to write a apf interrogator in a python sop to extract that data.

working with phil at sixfootduck on creating a massive -- houdini pipeline.

goals:

1. bring in the rig built in maya to houdini (via fbx??) -- rig was already brought into and animated in massive.

2. bring in individual agent animation from massive onto the rig in houdini for hero render in mantra.

check the Houdini exchange...

There's a few tools and a tutorial on there for going from Massive to Houdini. (just search "Massive" on the exchange)

It's for Massive 2.x and I haven't used it with version 3 but I'm sure it gets you at least 90% of the way...

can you upload it somewhere accessible by others? on odforce?
