I want to get data into CHOPs and limit some channels in a "soft" way, meaning when they reach some value they start getting more and more limitation the further they trespass it and not just clmaping the value in a fixed way. I did a quick search but couldn

Any ideas thrown in my general direction....or even better in my specific direction? :P

Hi Netvudu. Its a little tough to know if this technique will work for you without knowing specifics of what you're trying to do, but I think the Filter CHOP will serve you well to get this "soft" clamping effect.

What you can perhaps do is use a difference technique to clamp values. By inverting the clamped data and subtracting that from your original wave, you will get a clamping effect. By filtering this wave before subtracting it, you get a soft clamp. I've attatched a file because that description was a little clunky (sorry).

Hopefully this works or helps at all.

Good luck.
