vol100 Houdini Intro Chapter 01 My VizyAcky (now defunct) vol100 Houdini Intro class videos are now on YouTube. There are fifteen chapters (fifteen YouTube Playlists) plus an introduction "basics" chapter and a "Rolling Box" demo. About 30 hours of instruction. While an introduction it hit's the ground running. Well suited for someone switching from Houdini from another 3D package and wants to understand the meat of how things work quickly. Houdini Rolling Box Tutorial Here's a tutorial set for creating a rolling box without simulation. This was based on a question from one of my students, which turned into a bit of a complex answer. So I recorded the process. It's a good overview of how to create somewhat complex animation setups and avoid motion blur problems. The value isn't so much in getting a box to roll as to understand some animation methods in Houdini. Also covers lighting and rendering. Enjoy -Garman

I've just released a new introduction course to Houdini. Made for those new to Houdini who may be trying to switch from another software and find themselves in "new interface hell." This is a very extensive introduction to Houdini with many many hours of lectures, hip files, a pdf book, and with or without my instructor support. I try to cover as many of the "how to I start to do this..." things in almost every area of the software. I also go over "How Houdini Thinks" and some of the hidden gems which seem to be just "below" the interface level but critical for understanding the software. From time to time I yawn during the lectures, just to assure you that at times I think it can be boring too! I have had over 25 years of production experience in film and television and share tidbits of knowledge from my experience. During those years I have done a lot of teaching, while on the job, at universities, vocational schools and with my online school, Vizy Acky. Can you write a very detailed description of all the things you want to have happen. It's difficult to give advice because there are so many things that could happen.

I have problems jittering on random frames with flip fluids. Any ideas why this may happen? Video
