  16. i am trying to create custom shaders for arnold, and i really hate c++! it works fine with sopcontext and "user data", but i am a little bit lost with creating the right operator type and using a vex script to extend the arnoldvopnet, has some one tried it so far, or is it even possible to avoid c++ code and create custom shaders for arnold ? Thank you in advance

    you get the curl if you take the cross product from your vector and gradient, if you want compute the gradient from a grid in vex, you have a ode with 2 components x,y and you can compute the gradient for each component, but if you have 3 components and they depending from eachother like a vectorfield, you can use a gradient descent (jacobian) algorithm it does the exact same thing what sensei pusat described to compute the partial deriative, to get the gradient for a vectorfield with x,y,z, its my understanding i can be wrong

    i used anaconda and created a python2 environment for houdini, http://conda.pydata.org/docs/using/envs.html but the download libraries were for py 2.7.11 some of the scipy functions working, some of them dont, scikit-learn crashes can i update the pre-installed libraries ? or pointing to a other "lib/site-packages" path
