  1. Hi guys, I am doing some work with smoke clusters I can't seem to get pump forces to add to the velocity . Is there a special setup needed or do they just not work together? smokeClusteringPumps.hip
  2. So, looking a bit more into it, I think the that issue is transferring the UV's. But this is where I am stuck, I imagine I may have to segment the UVs nearer the surface. Any clean and clever tricks would be helpful...
  3. I am working on a destruction sim, I have been given a lower res Z-brush sculpt which I displace at rendertime. If I apply the map to the voronoid geometry the inside pieces and outside piece tear away from each other as the geo is not inheriting the maps displacment. I am currently getting over this by transferring the normals and uv's from the cliff mesh to the inside with a blend mask mixing the original normals, whilst it's doing the job it's causing a lot of artifacts, especially on the edges. I've attached an example file on a cube where I am trying to get the the inside pieces inherit the displacement from the outside. The aim would be to have a the texture based displacement on the outside and nearest points, and then blend to a noise based displacement. Any ideas for workflow? displacement.zip
  4. Hello! I am currently working on a project that has the majority of the image is refracted through a ocean spectrum surface. The problem being that I am unable to get AOVs such as point position, depth, and diffuse for the objects that are under the surface. I currently have a work around, where I have created utility shaders to enable control of the elements under the water surface. However, this has resulted in having a different render for each AOV needed! Does anyone have good approach to accessing the refracted objects AOVs? The current approach is a bit cumbersome and time consuming. Any advice would be much appreciated!!
  5. Hi there, I am currently working on a setup for a bullet using packed primitives. I want to be able to trigger the active values and inherit the point velocity. I have been able to get the triggering working using a pop wrangle however, the pop wrangle is for some reason preventing the inherit velocities from working.   7. Hi there, I'm looking into amending the sprite shader and would like to know whether it's possible to create motion vector pass for them. My attempts so far have proved fruitless... If any body has any advice on how I would go about it, any advice would be very helpful

    Below are the specs I went for in the end, mainly due to cost saving and getting a computer that fitted my needs. Overclocking ability of i7 5820k seemed to do more than enough for what I need. I've only just made the order so still waiting for the delivery. Looking forward to getting it and using it for Houdini tests!
