  1. Hey, Just wondering is there a way to go about only Sim what the camera sees instead of the entire scene? I thought i saw a video of this feature being in Houdini 15. Can't remember if it was official or a third party creation. Thanks a lot!

  3. Hey all, i'm still a new to houdini and working on a shot for school. I have a destruction sim, and when I create the smoke sim from the points the smoke seems to stop moving in the middle of the sim and just dissipate from the center. The smoke follows the pieces at the beginning but then seems to stop and hang around and then just slowly fade away. Any ideas would be great, thanks a lot! I can upload a .hip file if that would help, just have to clean it up first.

  6. Hey, i'm making a simulation of a side of a building exploding. I created the simulation of the wall destruction & debris. Now i want to make it look like an explosion blew through the wall. Just wondering the best way to go about it, I thought of creating an emitter inside the wall and have it emit the explosion at the same time the destruction SIM takes place. My problem is I can't set the activation of the explosion in time with the destruction. Tried key-framing the activation parameter but it just made the whole thing not work. Any help would be awesome! Thanks in advance.
  7. Ground explosion

    Hi, I'm trying to create a scene where a 'missile' hits the ground and causes an explosion. I wanted to the ground to explode too, chunks of rock fly up as well as the pyro explosion. I created the ground from a simple geo and applied the fracture and created the pieces I like. My issue is, how do i make this explode in the dop-net? I bring it in and have a tube object coming from below it to create the explosion fracture, but the pieces fall off screen since they are effected by gravity. When i add a ground collision object the TUBE object doesn't go though it and doesn't fracture the piece. My question is, how would I make it so the fractured object gets "blown up" with the pieces landing on the ground and so my colliding object can hit the fractured object without getting blocked by the ground. Thanks a lot for any help!! Any examples or knowledge of pre-exisiting examples/ tutorials would be awesome!

  9. Hi! I tracked some footage in PF Track, and everything seemed good. My test geo didn't slip or slide around. I exported it as Houdini Script. Brought it into Houdini, trackers all showed up along with the camera. But when I put the image sequence into the Camera background everything is sliding. The trackers don't match up with the background. I don't think my track was as way off as it seems with the background plate. Is there another reason why background sequence and trackers wouldn't be matching up? Any information is great! Thanks!
