  1. Generate Wavy Patterns Tutorial

Hello everyone! https://youtu.be/c4EsWQc7pAE In this tutorial we'll be going over the steps to generate a wavy pattern using simple VEX functions. This is more of a VEX oriented tutorial than my usual videos, but it should be easy to follow along since I will be giving a visual breakdown of each and every line and their effect on the geometry. Thanks to cgwiki's "JoyOfVex" guide that got me motivated to expand on this concept. I recommend you check out his series if you're interested in starting your journey in VEX. http://www.tokeru.com/cgwiki/index.php?title=JoyOfVex
  2. Wavy HDA

HI everyone! This HDA generates wavy patterns on a base geometry using a secondary source. Wave patterns depend on the shape and the point count of the secondary source. The HDA also generates color data depending on the source of the waves. Currently by default it outputs as curves/splines, if needed a polywire can be applied after the wave generation to give it 3D depth. I've attatched some renders that I have made with this tool. You can check it out over here: https://gumroad.com/l/R_wavy
  3. Would you mind explaining how you solved it? Thanks
  4. Compensate DOP Scale Time

You might want to look into this tutorial by Simon Fiedler https://vimeo.com/251487780
  5. Handkerchief Pearls

Hey, thanks for the file. It helped me a lot! I was wondering if there is any way to animate the direction jitter and constraint per point parameters. I'm not even sure if thats animatable since im guessing its a point search related operation and it would mess up the constraints?
  6. Boolean shatter troubleshoot - failed

As vicvvsh pointed out, your geometry probably isnt closed. I had a similar issue white doing a shatter on an impoted 3d scan. For me, a combination of Clean and Fuse SOPs fixed it.
  7. I suppose you want to manipulate the "Length" parameter in vex. You can use something like: f@len = chf("Lenght"); and click on the slider button on the right to make a slider. After that you can copy parameter from the newly created slider and paste relative references to the "Length" in your line node. Edit: Ohh, someone already replied. Well, you can you this way too.
  8. I found what the issue was by myself. I shouldve done a bit more research before posting, sorry. I just had to put in a fuse node and remove the convert node, like this: https://imgur.com/a/yg9vX
  9. Hi guys, im new to houdini. Im following a tutorial by entagma on how to make a growth sim: https://vimeo.com/197596529 . I exported it as alembic file and imported to cinema4d, and my results look somthing like this: https://imgur.com/a/M1UgW My growth sim for some reason is flickering. I dont have any idea why. Ive included my node structure below just in case Node structure: https://imgur.com/a/mAc5T . Thanks
