  1. I'm sorry to hear that. I think it's best to use houdini 16 hair tools instead of building one from scratch
  2. By volume what exactly are you referring too? I have this tutorial and I can give you a discount if you can't afford the current price.

    CG Workshop?

@Zetha I asked all students (no exception) to share their thoughts on the course and if there is negative reviews you will see them on that page The first and second week covers procedural modeling and we will build the cathedral you've seen in the videos, and in the remaining weeks you will learn about particles, destruction, fluid, smoke and lots of rendering using mantra. I hope this helps, and good luck learning houdini. Thanks Saber

  20. Hello Guys, here is some of the work i have been doing with houdini and arnold. this is rendered using the latest arnold which comes with a big speed improvement for rendering volumes. rendertime averages between 2 to 8 min per frame for the different tests. The slowest render (gi on for geometry) is the street explosion and it took 15 min at 1280*720 with 35 lights including spotlight, arealight, distant and environement lighting using HDR. Video: https://vimeo.com/126576359 here is highres version of the video: sjvfx.com/arnold/arnold_houdini_pyro.rar and some highres stills: sjvfx.com/arnold/dust_highres.jpeg sjvfx.com/arnold/highres_explosion.jpeg i hope you guys like it.
