  2. Fluid effect for Rotorwash

    Hi all, I am new to Houdini and I trying to make a rotor wash effect inside houdini and then bring that into UE4 for realtime use. I am just trying to get the actual ripple effect on the water first. How do I get the fluid to interact with the helicopter? I also included some stills. Thanks Alex

    I am trying to export out a Dynamic Remeshing Fluid sim and I am getting a post render script error when using VAT. I am using ver 18.5.696 of the Labs tools and Houdini FX 18.5.672 could that be the reason? Thanks Alex
  4. Making a switch?

    Hi All, I am looking for some friendly advice. I am senior 3d designer and have been thinking of making the switch to Houdini. I have used 3ds max mostly, although I do have experience with Maya and Keyshot and recently using UE4 a lot. I do a variety of different type of work, ranging from arch viz to product. My pipeline is pretty much 3ds max and vray,substance painter/ photoshop ( starting to learn Substance Designer ), and then UE4. Do you think Houdini would be a good fit with that workflow? From my understanding is that I can download the learning addition of Houdini to get going with and thats completely free, correct? Anyone else make the switch over from a different program? What are some good learning resources for Houdini? Thanks for the help everyone, Alex
