  1. Ive currently got a melting object set up controllng individual points to start melting using a popforce node. This is all working find for when I want the whole object to melt but as it currently stands as the individual points Ive selected to melt do so, the whole mesh starts to warp as if influenced by the areas which are melting. Is there anyway to tell houdini to only apply the popforce to a localised radius around the melting points?
  2. I'm currently working on a melting scene where I have a number of objects that need to melt into a combined puddle. The way Im currently doing this is by converting the objects to points, giving them their attributes for density and viscosity before theyre taken into dops to run through a flip solver. From my testing and limited understanding, I believe its not possible to have the fluids as seperate flip objects because I couldnt get them to properly interract with eachother in the sim. Now for values which have attributes in the flip solver its no problem to assign these per melting object but what I want to be able to control is the particle seperation for each. I can change the point seperation in the pointsfromvolume node, and link this to voxel size in my vdb from particles node in my meshing process, but how would I also link this per object in my flip_object node in dops? cheers

Hey all, Ive been following a tutorial on how to transfer the UV's to simulated flip fluid and all was going well untill I added a remesh node to the transferred UV attribute which was supposed to smooth out the mesh to preserve the detail of the texture. Instead what has happened is that the UV's have gone from being seperate shells to having all their edges connected together. There is already a vertex split in the node graph which fixed the issue before I added the remesh node. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I've provided the scene file - thanks a bunch Melting_Example_v001.hiplc

    Hey, thanks so much I had tried turning the overwrite to sop to 0 but didnt realise I had to import the Cd attribute into the SOP solver, youre a life saver

  6. Hey all, it's first post here and new to Houdini so I appologise if this isnt the easiest to follow. I have been trying to create a robust system for controlling vornoi fracture points, their glue strength and a way of manually breaking constraints between points. Ive been following some tutorials piecing together relevant bits from each to try and achieve this. My current issue Im facing is that once I play the simulation and the constraints start breaking they start flickering back on and glueing parts of the object which have already been broken. From my undertanding I think the manual breaking of constraints which is conflicting with the remove_broken SOP solver within DOPs, but I can't figure out how to get them both to work together. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I've hit a brick wall with this. Ive provided my scene file - I hope it's all easy to undertand. Thanks. Fracture_v001_notworking.hiplc
