  1. WIP - ok++'s softbodies RnD + .hip files

    Thanks a lot for sharing!!! I am gone have a look into with interest I guess I am the guy you follow on vimeo ^^ Thanks again !
  2. WIP - ok++'s softbodies RnD + .hip files

    Thanks a lot for sharing !!! Have you some clues about your softbody week 2 blend sop + solver+target geometry exemple ? If you have some more details about your worflow it will be great !!! Thanks again.
  3. Particles and Light Scattering

    I am trying to render scattering of light on a volume of particles. My first attempt was to scatter points on surface, transfering normal from that surface to points and using the wax shader from the material palette. For that I needed to generate a point cloud from my original surface using the SSS Sop.It seems to work (QT attached), but I have few questions in the case I would like to extend it to a volumetric scattering of points (through an isoOffset SOP of my scattering surface). Is it possible to pipe directly the scattered points without generating PC files ? I guess I need to precompute a ptarea attribute as did the SSS sop, but I would like to know if the ptarea attribute is the min distance between bunch of sampling points in a given radius. For alternative methods, I found this interesting papers : http://http.developer.nvidia.com/GPUGems/gpugems_ch16.html http://developer.download.nvidia.com/compute/cuda/sdk/website/projects/smokeParticles/doc/smokeParticles.pdf Mathieu SSS_POINTS.mov
  4. pcopen VOP

    As Dan mentionned I deleted the op: expression in the file parameter of my SOP, and it works fine ! Thanks
  5. pcopen VOP

  6. pcopen VOP

    I have a similar issue, I need to feed a very simple custom sop node with incoming points, but I get some VEX errors... If somebody could have a look on the hip Mathieu
  7. water dress stuff

    Great stuff ! Could you tell me more how did you do to export maya particles in houdini ? it could be so useful Mathieu
  8. global arrays

    Is it possible to declare an array as global in VEX ? I would like to use fixed values in my arrays for computing in subfunctions. I have tried to do that like in C but it seems to not work . global vector a[]={{1,1,1},...,{1,0,10}} vector (){ return a[1]; } Mathieu
  9. for each

    Thank you Petz, that's what I was looking for ! Mathieu
  10. for each

    No answer ?
  11. for each

    I would like to know if it's possible to change the FORVALUE inside the foreach loop. My purpose is to test if the stack of points at a given node (for exemple a delete node) is empty, if true stop the foreach loop (changing the FORVALUE to my MAX ITERATIONS), if not loop again. Thanks in advance. Mathieu
  12. pointcloud

    Hi, I would like to know how much points the pcopen function returns. I could do a simple loop through pc iterate but I would know if there is a smarter method to do that. Mathieu
