  1. Hello, I modeled multiple tubes generated by polywire sop. Although all of the faces' normal is correctly assigned, some portion of the tubes rendered incorrectly (strange looking sss scattering, "broken" appearance, etc.) At first, I thought the problem is caused by overlapping polys because my geo has quite a complex shape. So, I tried removing overlapping polygons using Boolean sop and removing degenerated prims using clean sop. But the result didn't change. I'd like to know what should I do to render the geometry correctly. I attached the hip file. (polywire.hiplc) Thank you.

  3. Hello, I recently started Houdini and I realized it can be used as a powerful visualization tool for learning mathematics. I visualized the slope field of Lotka-Volterra equations, which are commonly known as predator-prey model. Also, I posted a more detailed explanation of my work on my website. Now, I'm very interested in learning lighting/post-processing skills. So I'd like to know if there are great tutorials on it. Thank you!
  4. Hello, I'm trying to implement an OpenCL node that loops over "scatter1" node's points and changes density at the volume A's nearest voxel of every point. However, I can't figure out how to calculate the nearest voxel's index value. So I'd like to know how to calculate the voxel's index value. Also, in the "merge1" node, there is one point added by the volume A(Points count is increased by one after merging). Is there a way to exclude that point when looping over points? I attached my node setup and "opencl1" node's bindings setup below. Thank you.
  5. Hello, I'd like to perform matrix multiplication between 2 of 3x3 matrices(not coefficient-wise) and outer product between 2 vectors using HDK. So I'd like to know if the * operator supports matrix multiplication and outer product of vectors as in the example code below. UT_Matrix3 A = ... UT_Matrix3 B = ... UT_Matrix3 C = A * B // matrix multiplication UT_Vector3 u = ... UT_Vector3 v = ... UT_Matrix3 X = u * v // outer product If not, is there a function/operator to do matrix multiplication and outer product? Thank you.
  6. Hello, I'm trying to write a microsolver that changes the scalarfield's voxel value according to the points position of the given geometry. So, I'd like to know how to access the voxel data of SIM_ScalarField by index vector without iterating entire field. For example, changing the voxel value in [2, 10, 6] to 1. Thank you.
