Hi, you can always use expression to create group. Hope it helps. groupByUV.hip
  2. particles kill on next frame

Hi Menoz, I am not sure what you are trying to do, you set the lifespan to zero if you don't want the particles to be born at all. Otherwise, if you give them a lifespan larger than zero and then kill them afterward, they will live for at least 1 frame. You can also increase the oversampling to insanely high (like 5, 50, 100 depends on your particles count) to kill most of the particles in-between frame, but you can still see some particles survive, maybe you could get away from it? Anyway, it would be better if you could tell us more about your ultimate goal. Ronald
  3. Layering HOT_Ocean_Eval

Thanks Ole! I will try your suggestion. Cheers.
  4. Hi all, I would like to ask, what is the best way to layer HOT_Ocean_Eval in the shading/displacement context? I am not sure how to evaluate the final Normal after the layering. Any advice would be much appreciated. Ronald
  5. Just move to the new daily build, in case someone need this. Cheers. hotbin_win64_1.0rc9.zip

  7. 3D/VFX Artist Reel

Hi, this is my first post here. (it's kind of intimidating to post here. ) Anyway, I have just finished my showreel, although only part of the content is done with Houdini, namely, some rigid body dynamics simulation and fragment generation, but I plan to shift more of my works to be done in Houdini because I just love it. So I will probably be more and more active in this forum. My primary interest are visual effect in film/commercial. But when I was preparing this reel, I was quite consciously try not to limit myself to the strict sense of visual effects, so you may find it more like a general modeling/lighting/rendering reel. There are some making-of information in my site too. I am currently located in Hong Kong, but I am open to relocation or freelance work. Thanks!
