  1. hi madebygeoff, thanks for your comment really appreciate it. right, things you mentioned are definitely what i'm facing right now, but those info that you shared really help me a lot. i will go through brundlethwaite, thank you so much!
  2. hi all, i'm pretty new to houdini and trying to setup rigging for human model in houdini. i have watched and tried all the video from sidefx rigging page (link down below) and noticed that what they have done is rigging with un-connected body model. https://www.sidefx.com/learn/collections/rigging-series/ looks like that there's way to capture weight or skinning with painting method using kinefx, does it work with the result of this tutorial? or is it totally different thing? as a final result, i would like to animate human model without using any motioncapture (just like what we do with animation in maya). if you could help me out with link or idea for the rigging in houdini, and hopefully if i could use the finished rigging data from the tutorial above would be really helpful. i'm thinking that i just need to connect geometry together and adjust skinning but this is making me stop for a month.... thank you in advance.
  3. i'm testing Houdini auto rig, based on the tutorial below. https://www.sidefx.com/ja/tutorials/autorigging-masterclass/ i'm at watching around 15min, and trying to set up the rig from blank, anything i add after 'root' shows that they have 'no valid parents' as you could find in the attached image. currently using Houdini19, and this tutorial looks like they are using 16. shall i downgrade the software? please help me out with this issue... thank you in advance.
  4. hi jason, thank you for your quick response! actually it worked! now i updated to the latest one ver496 and everything is denoised and clear! really appreciate your help, thank you!
  5. i need help finding the way to use nvidia denoiser in houdini19. i have just updated to H19 and having issue finding the main menu Render ▸ Download NVIDIA OptiX Denoiser option as written in the SideFX page. https://www.sidefx.com/docs/houdini/render/optixdenoiser.html there's no option as you could see from the attached image. due to this, because i cannot download the nvidia denoiser from Houdini itself, i tried to download manually based on 'Manual installation', and updated the houdini.env file under the user path. however when i try to render an image using Karma with image filters 'nVidia Optix Denoiser' on, the following error code shows up and seems the final rendered image just comes out without the denoiser effect. <b style='color: red;'>Error creating optix denoiser</b> <b style='color: red;'>Unable to create denoise image filter plugin</b> for GPU, im using NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER, and using NVIDIA driver ver.456.71. weird thing is that i was able to use denoiser when i was using H18 with mantra. please help me out with this issue... thank you in advance.
