    ooh, nevermind, figured out the above example just transform global P to texture space and sample that, picks up attributes from the point cloud just fine

    ah great, thanks peter so, to be more specific. in a vop vex surface shader, can i get the colours from a point cloud and plug it into say, a lambert? tried using pcopen, the pcfilter but it doesn't seem to be working...

    Hi Guys, Was playing around with all the different point cloud vops and besides not understanding how they work i'm trying to figure out what result you could actually achieve? Anyone got some cool shaders or examples of what using point clouds can do?

    haha, funny how i had these exact same thoughts when i just installed new itunes... 100mb? wait a minute... houdini is how big... and what can houdini do? (although, keep in mind itunes install has quicktime with it too) oh wait, houdini can play mp3's as well... hmmmm i'd love to send a spy into apple and find out what is actually going into their apps
  11. hi all [posted this in the rendering section but no replies...] there used to be an unofficial maxwell render plugin for houdini... now with the release of maxwell render 2.0 i'm wondering what's happened to this project can't seem to find it anywhere... houdini 10 + maxwell render 2 would make me VERY happy thanks

  13. hi alll, having some delayed load fun (aka... trouble) started out with an animation sequence and used a mantra archive ROP to bake out the geometry and shader. it's working great through the delayed load shader but the motion blur is incorrect (should be using deformation blur) from the documentation: "This procedural only supports one segment of motion blur (2 geometry samples). You can specify the deformation geometry in the Blur File on the Main tab of the Mantra: Delayed Load geometry shader." what is this "blur file" that i can load into the delayed load shader? and how do i create it? thanks in advance

    Thanks Rob, don't think i've explained myself enough... i want all the objects in my scene to render normally... except a specific (text) object must render only in a seperate image plane and not affect the normal `C` or beauty pass..... problem is that no matter what tweaks i do in vops with alpha/opacity it'll still have some affect, like be in the alpha channel.
