  1. That is a lot of cash. I doubt this will ever hit market for real. Like what will they do with data? Send several GB to each GPU rendering? EDIT: Seems it will just be one host accepting to process the whole job so only sending data to one host.
  2. Yeah I know they have been talking about it and we bug them every time they visit. Just wondered if they maybe had confirmed it somewhere.
  3. hou.selectedNodes() returns a tuple of nodes not a single node. for n in hou.selectedNodes(): print n.name()
  4. I'd like them to steal the raytraced viewport workflow from clarisse. It's nice being able to show everything shaded in the viewport even if grainy. Bonus that you don't have to set up opengl shaders.
  5. GBK will be producing VFX for two sequences of a feature film, a total of 190 shots. The majority of shots have been shot in a green screen studio and involve creating digital environments, set extensions, a limited number of hard surface props, high detail water simulations and heavily interacting CG humanoid creatures. There are even a number of shots which will require complex rockfall and destruction sims and the use of mocapped digidoubles. We are looking for FX Artists who are highly experienced in Houdini. (Experience of doing water simulations is a big plus) to join our artist team. Candidates must be available to work onsite in our Studio in Stockholm. The timespan is from mid March to mid June.   6. Experimenting here as well. I created an issue about it on github. Let's see what they say next week.
  7. I guess it's mostly the whole thing with having to create a shop network to add a texture to a lightdome. It doesn't feel very intuiative.
  8. Seems they have added it to the website downloads now and not only nightlies. Have anyone found some documentation? Some things are a little quirky to use.
  9. If you don't see the limitations you frankly don't get the problem. You can't fit a shot with 20+ furry characters, fire simulations, fog, digi doubles and environments in what is available at the moment. (With the exception of redshift that don't try to keep it all in memory so it don't really apply)
