  1. I'm trying to get attributes from a volume and group them by whatever data type they are. I was able to get the float type attributes imported, but I'm having difficulties with the vector types. My plan was to use the attribsize function to separate the attributes per type, but I believe that my code at the moment isn't looking in the right place. int attribType = attribsize(0,"prim",attributes); printf("Attrib %s = %s\n", attributes, attribType); If you have any ideas or solutions it'll be highly appreciated. Thanks!
  2. Hi everyone. I'm currently working on a project where I need a swarm of butterflies flying towards a general direction. I got the animation down, but I'm just stuck with the shading/texturing part. I've tried Show Am All, but it doesn't work with multi-grid textures (there are 4 image files per texture, and 5 textures in total). Is there a way to assign random multigrid textures to a copy stamped crowd sim? I would appreciate the help, thank you in advance!
  3. I would have never thought of doing it this way, thank you so much! This is more than what I hoped for!
  4. Hi everyone! I'm in my final year at school learning Houdini right now, and I'm trying to recreate this comet. I tried various different ways of trying to achieve this look, but I am stumped and out of ideas. So far, I have a curve with animated noise that emits particles in the shape of the comet. Please let me know how to achieve this look, preferably not using pyro or anything big like that. I attached a file for anyone to take a look at. Thank you and I appreciate it!
  5. Hi everyone! I'm a beginner in Houdini and I'm having a difficult time trying to attach tentacles of a jellyfish to its head. I have the head made from revolving two curves and converting them to polygons. I then tried to group selected points and copying the tentacle polygon to the aforementioned points. Is there another way that I can attach these tentacles so that they are attached to the head? Previously, I just had the tentacles revolve around a circle, but they only appeared to be attached to the head. I'm planning on exporting the finished polygon into Maya later on as well so I can't have any intercepting polys. This is what I want, but in Houdini: Thank you!
