  1. Hi, I'm trying to achieve a simple effect, but am struggling to get my head around it. I'm sure I'm overthinking it but if anyone could help me that would be great! I'm trying to get a random bounce direction on particles when the collide with the ground plane. As if the particles were small stones bouncing randomly due to a bumpy road surface. I've attached a hip file with the basic setup. I was thinking maybe you could inherit a random vector as the collision happens, but couldn't seem to figure a way to do it. I know various sources have mentioned the old "gain normal" parameter, but this no longer exists. Any help would be much appreciated. odforce_randompopdirection.hip
  2. I have three individual components to this briefcase, the body, the handle rings and the handle, the body is a static objects and the other two are RBD packed objects, all concave. I am trying to get the handle to hang from the suitcase naturally but they are falling through each other, there is a slight reaction but i cant get them to completely react to each other. I have attached a zip of the three .obj files and the .hip file if anybody could have a look. Any help would be really appreciated ! Thanks! Assets.zip
  3. Hi everyone, I'm an extreme beginner when it comes to Houdini, can someone please tell me how to make some falling particles more bouncy when they come into contact with a ground plane? Thanks!! I've attached the file Ball Pit Ball Simulation 011.hipnc
  4. Hey folks, I'm having an issue when trying to dynamically fracture a glass tumbler object. Check out the quicktime attached to this post. You can see that the glass hits the floor, the object is fractured, but they immediately bounce back up. What I would expect to happen is have the pieces continue their movement down into the ground, but I can't find a way to get this. I've tried adjusting the Pre/Post Velocity Bias on the fractureparms node, but that doesn't seem to help. Does anyone know what params I should be looking at? Thanks for any help.
