  2. Hello and Welcome to HossamFX.org : Description : Hello everyone. and welcome to this course procedural City Vol 1 building generator . One year ago I received an email from one of my customers. He asked me To record a tutorial about procedural City in HoudiniFX and I did it In this course you will see with me how I can convert those boxes to this nice building Just buy one click. step-by-step I will start with you on this journey to see how we can create a smart system in Houdini FX. This system can decide where to add a window, where to add a balcony , how to create procedural UV, and How to use the imported materials from Quixel megascans , manipulate and modify it. Using this tool you can generate an infinite number of buildings. I will use those buildings in vol 2 to create a beautiful city. I will show you how to create every tiny detail you see in this building from scratch !!! I will stay away from complexity and the use of code . In addition to procedural modeling skills, this course will give you a broad idea of creating procedural UV’s and manipulating textures . Creating a PDG network is on our list in this course and the final render will be explored in Mantra & RedShift. Now I'll let you watch this presentation of the final result of testing this system to randomly generate 50 different buildings !!! Notice : Watermarked Tutorial, link to download will be sent AFTER 72 hours as maximum thank you !!! Course Link : https://www.hossamfx.org/procedural-building-generator Kind Regards !!! 3. Hello Houdini Newbies, Some time ago I have launched my new Houdini FX publication. It's a good starting point for beginners and artists coming from other 3d applications like Cinema 4D, Maya & Co. It's well structured and easy to follow. If you have any questions about it, please let me know. Thanks, Helge Trailer: https://lnkd.in/dZaSBNw Here is the direct link to the publication: https://lnkd.in/deNWqJQ Here the full description: This publication "pixeltrain - Houdini FX Fundamentals >> Fast Forward“ by experienced trainer Helge Maus is a complete Introduction to Houdini FX. In 117 lessons with a duration of 18,5 hours, your instructor Helge Maus provides you with a step by step approach to understanding Houdini FX and its workflow as a fully featured 3d application. This training is designed to get you up and running quickly, enabling you with the skills needed to work effectively in this incredibly powerful 3d and vfx package. Additionally, it lays the foundation of essential concepts and paradigms to understand more advanced topics for other modules of Houdini FX down the road. In this course, Helge Maus starts from the ground up providing you with a solid and practice-oriented foundation in Houdini FX. First, he takes you through the user interface, followed by an exploration of the different levels and contexts of a Houdini project. You will conclude by learning how to manage these concepts through the production cycle within Houdini FX. You will write your first expressions in Hscript. Therein, you will learn the concepts of dependencies between objects, explore using groups and packed geometries and finish by building your first asset. 9. Pluralsight is proud to offer three new courses... one covering intermediate level ocean shot development, a second covering the development of visual effects for Unreal Engine, and another covering the fundamental math concepts that are pivotal to working within Houdini. Below is a bit about each course and a link where you can check out the course overviews. Houdini: Intermediate Ocean FX by Andreas Giesen Link: www.pluralsight.com/courses/houdini-intermediate-ocean-fx In this course, you'll learn how to setup a procedural ocean and do a flip fluid simulation for a traveling boat in choppy waters. First, you'll discover how to use the ocean spectrum to create an infinite ocean. Next, you'll add the boat, do a flip simulation for a specific area with high detail, and add whitewater and mist. Finally, you'll extend the simulated area and set-up the shaders to render all the layers. When you're finished with this Houdini 16 course, you'll not only have an ocean rendered with a high detail fluid simulation, but you'll also have a workflow on how to master your own ocean and fluid challenges in the future. (Software required: Houdini 16.) Houdini VFX for Games by Andreas Glad Link: www.pluralsight.com/courses/houdini-vfx-games Have you ever sat down in Unreal Engine to create an effect, and not had a clue where to start? In this course, you'll start from the very beginning by creating the textures for your sprites. Next, you'll create debris in a way that allows you to use it repeatedly and uniquely. Finally, you'll add all the extras to really sell the effect, like decals, camera shake, and a shockwave. When you are finished with this course, not only will you have gained a deeper understanding of timing and the importance of telling a story with the effect, but you'll have planted the seed for future endeavors into proceduralism. (Software required: Houdini 15 and up, Photoshop and Unreal Engine 4.) 11. Hi Guys, I put my reel out a while ago and since then I've recieved quite a lot of emails asking questions about some of the work and for tutorials etc. Mostly from people who are still trying to get into the industry. My reel: I'm thinking about making a course for those people specifically, focusing on some of the usual FX challenges and helping to create some work to add to their reels and hopefully make them more hire-able! I do a fair amount of interviewing people and watching reels for potential new people to bring onto the team, so I have a good grasp of what we/others look for in showreels. So I'm looking for some advice or suggestions, should I do a course that covers a broad range of topics and how to make them as pretty as possible for a reel? Should I maybe focus on one type of effect and then introduce other courses to tackle the rest one by one? Any other suggestions or requests from people who would be interested in this sort of thing would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance Jay

  13. Link: CGWorkshop-- VEX in Houdini The course starts August 4th and runs for 8 weeks. I'm going to start out covering the basics of VEX, then we'll move on to some really fun projects. It's going be a good mix of visual effects related coding and really fun generative art. Check out the outline on the course website and if you have questions, ask away. I love teaching with Houdini as my blackboard, so I hope that comes across in the lessons. I want this course to kick ass; the world is full of boring programming classes and we don't need another! Happy Houdini'n -Shawn PS: XSI gals and guys, wanna learn VEX? I think I know a way... PS:PS: "Houdini'n" - is that a word yet. Can I say that?
  14. Hey Everyone, CG Workshop is currently enrolling for the Intro To Houdini 14 course. I will cover a variety of material and get into many technical low level concepts, such as the math, geometry, and trigonometry involved in gaining complete control over an effect. When it comes to making great FX, there aren't any push-button solutions. This course helps to lay that groundwork to understand what is going on under the 'hood'. I will take you step-by-step through the construction using production techniques in Houdini, right from looking at the UI and procedural modeling in Week 1, and eventually on to particles, grains and fluids. We will cover methods that give complete control when you're procedurally fracturing geometry, creating dust and debris, dissolving effects, as well as procedural animation and modeling, to name a few. http://training.cgsociety.org/course/introduction-to-fx-using-houdini Check it out and let me know if you have any questions!
