  1. Hello guys, I want to apply some effects to the "low-density" particles that reach the surface (like bubbles), so how can I select them? Is there any microsolver that helps? I think measuring the SDF can't help because the side walls of the container are close to the particles, too. Thanks for helping.
  2. Hi guys, Does anyone know how we can use the "Gas Surface Snap" microsolver in a sim? I reviewed the documents but honestly didn't get how I could use this DOP node. I would appreciate any ideas or tutorial links... Thanks for helping.
  3. Hello guys, In a DOP context, I tried to expand and resize the density field boundary dynamically, using the "Gas Resize Fluid Dynamic" microsolver, but it didn't work. I guess I have to use an SOP Solver to calculate the final output of the simulation boundary for each frame. Any suggestions about how to resize that boundary dynamically..? Thanks for helping. 4. Hello, I'm trying to write a microsolver that changes the scalarfield's voxel value according to the points position of the given geometry. So, I'd like to know how to access the voxel data of SIM_ScalarField by index vector without iterating entire field. For example, changing the voxel value in [2, 10, 6] to 1. Thank you.
  5. Hello guys, Just a quick question. I'm studying new Sparse system for Pyro Solver in H18. First change I could see is that Pyro Solver sparse has 4 inputs rather than 5 and “Velocity Update” input is missing. Let's say I want to use a Gas Disturbance micro solver for sparse smoke. How I can connect it to the solver? “Shape” tab in the solver already has a Disturbance option. But, of course, the result is different if I use only the Micro Solver connected to the last input (Forces). So I guess, this approach is wrong. How I can achieve same result using only Micro Solvers? And, first of all.. Does new Sparse Solver allow to use micro solvers? Many thanks!
  6. Hello, I'm trying to access a microsolver in the Dopnet. I would like to get e.g the disturbance parameter of the disturbance node, which has the parameter name: "dist_scale". With a Gasfieldwrangle node I can access e.g @vel, @density.. basically attributes.. which is working fine if I am changing them. But if I want to access the parameter and try to change it, nothing happens. I tried it with @dist_scale or relative/absolute channel reference. Thanks!
  7. I am trying to create an effect that changes the color of some geometry when the pyro smoke hits it. I have been looking into microsolvers like gas collision detect and gas impact to attribute. I would like to learn how to hook those into the network. I would also appreciate suggestions if I am headed in the wrong direction. Thank you
  8. Hey guys, I think it's easier to explain with this images: Basically, is there a way to apply turbulence to one of the sources only? I'm not even sure if that's the best way of using 2 emitters so any tips will be very valid Thank's multi.pyro.v1a.hiplc
  9. This operator allows you to run an OpenCL kernel as part of your SOP network. Depending on the GPU, some operators can be orders of magnitude faster than even VEX. In this case the OpenCL code is 144 times faster than VEX on GTX 970.
  10. Hi! Does anyone knows if it's possible to mask a microsolver by some custom field? (i'm sure it is!) Say i have a smoke expanding in a room, and a turbulence microsolver, and i want to make the turbulence smoothly stops when the smoke hits the walls, is there a way to do it? I was thinking in building a SDF from the walls, but don't find how i could mask the turbulence microsolver with it..! Thanks a lot if anyone have some direction.
  11. After a long delay, I present to you the final product! https://vimeo.com/145827468 Enjoy
  12. How can I colour particles based on pyro fields? E.g. colour based on temperature/heat. I'm guessing gasfieldtoparticles? But I don't have much experience with microsolvers and not sure of the setup.. Thanks
  13. I am trying to create a basic particle system with spring-mass constraints based on Hooke's law with the aim of creating some granular simulations. I am still learning Houdini so i'm just trying to assess the options to achieve this.. Could I just use a popWrangle to update forces and velocities inside a popnet? Or would it be better to use gas microsolvers? The ultimate goal is to achieve this!: baby steps first though..
  14. Hey folks, Does anybody know how to use the "Goal Divergence" and the "Pressure" in the "Gas Project Non Divergent"? Whenever I try to inject a field the particles go crazy. Would be nice to get something like a explanation or example file. Thanks
