  1. Hi. I try to controll bend stiffness_drop_off inside vellum contraint property. But when I turn on stiffness dropoff no changes appear during simulation. If I turn it on inside vellum cloth within bend properties It works but whener I make changes with vellum constraint properties nothing works. Any help?
  2. Hey all! I was hoping to get some help figuring out a way to update the stiffness value of a vellum constraint geometry across the frames of its simulation. I can write an attribute wrangle like the one pictured and it will update the starting frame and the simulation bakes from there and plays as though the values werent changing at all, much less becoming negative. I tried dropping into the vellum solver and seeing if I could figure out anything in there but nothing seemed to work. Im still pretty new to houdini so I expect it to take some time but I was hoping to eventually take whats done in these two awesome videos and merge them into a project where a genetic algorithm produces tensegrities that update their stiffness over simulated time in order to deform in ways that cause them to (hopefully) roll towards a target. Hip file of the simplest version of the problem is attached in case it helps! Thanks for reading!!! VellumConstraintsHelp.hipnc
  3. Hey, I'm trying to get this stick to points constraint to update every frame so I can have this cloth sort of peel down over time. Thought setting 'create constraints' to 'each frame' would make it work but doesn't work. Also tested using a value instead of an attribute which also doesn't work. Any pointers greatly appreciated. 4. Is it possible to control the "surface stiffness" of a granular sheet, so it will act like a sheet of paper or another stiff material?
  5. Hi all, I have a question about simulating hair in Houdini. In maya, they have settings that can be mapped to the different positions along the hair strand. You control it via a ramp. For instance, stiffness curve. You can adjust the ramp so that the root is stiff, but the end tips of the hair is loose. Is there a way of controlling attributes like this in houdini? I want the roots to be stiff and only the tips to be loose. Thanks
  6. Hi all,I just have a little question about painting cloth stiffness. I was doing some test at home and I tried to paint in the attribute for cloth stiffness based on a few example from previous threads : http://www.sidefx.com/index.php?option=com_forum&Itemid=172&page=viewtopic&t=18437 https://www.sidefx.com/index.php?option=com_forum&Itemid=172&page=viewtopic&p=108649&highlight= I tried to replicate the method on my own but came to no success. Is there a new method of painting attributes to cloth in H13 or I am just doing it wrongly. This is my hip file which I did some testing with : paintstiffness_test.hipnc Appreciate all your help guys!! - Darren
