  1. Hi, I search a lot of tutorials and topics but i didn't find any satisfactory answer. I think it's something very simple but I don't understand that it fails. I am trying to create a fractured mesh with "voronoi" or with "rbd material fracture" and then I want to add a limit to the thickness. Many of the examples or questions logically end up saying that best options is extrude but in my case it is a fairly complex mesh and destroy it, then it's not a valid option. Then something as simple as create a fracture and then making the inner boolean and it does not work, only very very small pieces are separated (I have tried it both in explodeview and in rbd and it does the same). Here a file with a very simple example of sphere, sorry for english and thanks in advance. boolean_in.hipnc
  2. Hi guys, I'm attempting to get the thickness of an object and use this to blend between two pbr layers - in this case a sharp refractive layer into a sss-y one. I could sample an sdf volume on disk and read the thickness from there. But I'm wondering is there a way to do this at render time. For example, catching the position of a ray entering and exiting a surface with lots of sample. Any ideas? Example scene much appreciated! Thanks.

    Smoke Effect skin

Hi Everyone I was wondering if someone knows how I can create this effect I have just done a simple smoke simulation, but I do not know how to make the inside: also, if anyone knows, I am trying to create this object with the exterior like the purple surface, but the inside to look like this: ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED

  5. How can you move a copy independently of the other copies without breaking the copy node ? How do you add thickness to an extruded curve ? I was hoping Depth Scale was the answer unfortunately, no What node splits an extruded curve, by split I mean edge split ? Finally for this little batch of questions, can you merge selected vertices after a copy node, instead of them, in my case overlapping ?
  6. Hi all, I have been learning to use bullet sim for the past few weeks and was trying to add thickness for my breaking teapot. I have unchecked "Create Inside Surface" at the Voronoi fracture node to remove the insides, but currently the surfaces are paper thin. I have tried all the extrude nodes, but my surface points seem to get wonky. I am also wondering if there is an effective way to auto freeze the small pieces from rolling around, I have tried some solutions from the forum but it haven't completely stopped it. I am guessing it is a drawback for using bullet sim or I shouldn't be cracking the geometry into really small pieces. I have attached a picture and file too Thank you! voronoi_v002.hipnc
  7. Hi guys i want to connect neighbours count to cd to create a tickness attribute , i can do that in ice easily but i confused to do that with neighbors in vopsop . could you help me please ? thanks
  8. is it posible to make a shader that emulate thickness? example i have a skirt geometry and i dont want to be dealing poly extruding and rendering, can a shader make a grid object look thicker at rendering?
