Sand/Dirt sim

Just spitballing here, but I'm wondering if anyone has achieved results similar to these for sand and dirt type simulations. This is from a Blender python script, apparently...

Looks similar to lagoa multiphysics or other material-based simulators.  I'm hoping we get something similar in 14. 

 

It's written in cython btw, so its a little more complex than a regular python script ;)

Fair enough. It seems to be verlet-based and single-thread, which seems amazing to me...

seems a good example, but with animated objects, apparently, the effect is not the same. why allways boxs?
In houdini I think: sim from  bullet, eg:500.5000, 50000 small spheres.
.and  you can manipulate the data very well, transf velocity from point to volume and  go back  to millons of particles. you can use a glue feature and a lot a lot of things.(and you not have to wait a week to see the results.)
