cloth penetration

hi

i am trying to use some of these simple situations to demonstrate different aspects of houdini dynamic.

I cant get rid off cloth piece penetrating with static geo?

I tried all options substeps, thickness, collision passes etc. watched all dops master classes but still cant fix it

what am i missing here? it seems this stuff was working ok in H11/12

tube object>Collicions>RBD Solver>Volume

Uniform Divisions = 100

Offset Surface = 0.075

ok thanks

so to make this clear FEM cloth is usindg rbd volume representation for collision not bullet concave mesh?

Old cloth solver used to use polygons for collision, new FEM solver seems to be using whatever you choose, if "Use Volume Based Collisions Detection" is toggled it will use volumes, if no it will use Bullet Data

Hi

managed to fix it quite good

there is still some penetration and stickiness between cloth

not sure I would dare to do fast moving collision with cloth for real project

will certailnly do more test with it
