Container for Cloth Simulation?

Hey,

 

Really simple question, however I'm having trouble finding a good solution.

 

How do I stop a cloth simulation using a container or bounding box? I'm using the Finite Element Solver to simulate several objects and I want to kill the geo once it moves out of camera so it doesn't have to simulate it. I need something similar to POP Kill but for cloth objects.

Actually, I don´t think it´s that simple.

Have you tried using a SOP Solver to delete the geometry?

Combined with the camera fustrum you might be able to clip out anything the leaves the camera view.

Be sure to have some offset, or otherwise you might get some unwanted interactions with in-camera geometry.

 

Just some quick brainstorming that seems that might work from the top of my head. Haven´t tried it, though....

Hey Javier, thanks for your answer! It seems like a good solution indeed, I just didn't have time to test it since I'm not too familiar with SOP solver.

I'll see if I can test it soon and will post the solution, for the job now it was faster to just let it sim
