Transform glue dynamically. Glue to deforming objects

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Is there any way to glue active objects to non active deforming object? I tried to update glue position every frame so

that it could stick to passive object, but looks like it doesn't work.

Attaching hip to be clear

Cheers,

A

Glue won't change positions - it just represents connections between pieces.

Use hard constraint instead. You still need to update positions/rotations.

That link does not discuss the issue at all.  He does not try to glue an active object to a non active deforming ( or a static ) object.  I am re looking into this now myself and surprised to find that there is still no obvious solution and sesi offers no examples.

Any updates on this issue? I also would like to know a way to constraint active objects on non active deforming objects.

Looking at the original scene, the problem was it was freezing time for all the cubes before creating the constraints. I split off the animated cube from the freeze, and extended the search radius for the connect adjacent pieces, the bottom cube drags the rest and makes them topple over.

I put some notes on making constraint networks here:
