ejr32123 88 Posted September 7, 2017 Hey, I would like to add some detail to the interior faces of my fractured geo. I have separate materials for the inside and out. I added a displacement noise to the inside shader. The only problem is that it breaks the edges. How can I get some detail like that on the faces without breaking the geometry? Thanks
vtrvtr 90 Posted September 7, 2017 Check this If you search for "edge displacement" you'll find several results, there are several ways of doing this. The above one is just one of them. Also, you could check the new boolean tools that do this kind of thing in a more artistic way
ejr32123 88 Posted September 7, 2017 I saw this tutorial. I have only been using Houdini mainly since 16. I don't see some of the nodes he uses and to my understanding shops are obsolete now? What would I use? Material builder?
Sepu 220 Posted September 7, 2017 What are the nodes that you are missing from the tutorial?. You'll be using Material builder. you can still use SHOPs if you want to, but they are being deprecated .
ejr32123 88 Posted September 8, 2017 I eventually found all except one. The surface model shader node.
