expose nodes in blackboxed asset

Is it possible to expose a node in a blackboxed asset?  I need the user to have access via object merge.

Sorry, I mean expose the node to another node outside of the blackboxed asset, not the user.

Although it turns out houdini has a bug which makes blackboxing assets which contain cop networks impossible. 

Houdini have said they're not interested in fixing the bug, so I guess it's pointless now anyway.

I see.  Could you somehow output that from a second ouput and reference that or a null connected to it? I get that it would be useful to reference them directly.
