FR3D 18 Posted September 17, 2019 Should we rejoice or be scared for new tech like that. What happens when anyone can do pyro-effect, with a couple of clicks? That said it looks quiet impressive for real time.
malexander 409 Posted September 17, 2019 Looks nice, though it'll be a lot slower when you actually want to read it back to do anything with. That's why most realtime demos are just that.
Marc 281 Posted September 17, 2019 Yeah control is a big thing that tends to slow things down. Here's another fun one: https://paveldogreat.github.io/WebGL-Fluid-Simulation/

Midphase 21 Posted September 17, 2019 Looks awesome, this type of technology can't get here fast enough. Sorry to anyone who feels that their jobs are threatened.

If they can show their pyro interacting with fluids or deforming geometry while spawning realistic sparks, then maybe people might start to feel a bit threatened. But the more features that are added, the slower things get. Directors often want things to look a certain way, so control is a pretty big thing to lose. But if they can offer all that, kudos to them. I just didn't see it in the video.
