adametheridge80@gmail.com 0 Posted October 4, 2019 Hi Guys. I'm trying to create a kind of 'expanding foam' effect (like an Elephant's Toothpaste chemical reaction). Expanding out of a teacup. But my FLIP fluid is hitting a weird shelf and not overflowing the edges of the cup properly (see below). My emitter is a sphere at the bottom of the cup. .hiplc file also attached. Any pointers hugely appreciated. Elephant_Foam_02.hiplc
catchyid 31 Posted October 4, 2019 hi, I have not checked your file, but from the image, it seems either : (1) you a collision volume that prevents liquid from falling down, (2) the bounds of your flip simulation is somehow limited to minimum height (I doubt it as I can see fluid inside the cup). Another point: it might be also possible (and even produce better results) if you use SOP to create such effect, meaning, spheres getting bigger then burst, and mesh that geo. If you manage to do it on SOP, it will be faster and easier than using divergence field.
bunker 268 Posted October 4, 2019 the solver is expecting an SDF so you need to use the 2nd output of the collisionsource1 SOP.
